MILAN TO ACCELERATE FLORENZI CHASE

AC Milan are prepared to accelerate negotiations for AS Roma utility player Alessandro Florenzi in the coming days according to Italian publication Calciomercato. It was revealed that AC Milan will intensify efforts to sign Italian national team player Florenzi on the back of the return of Roma director Tiago Pinto.

Pinto is back in Italy after his trip to London last week to seal the €40m deal for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham. Abraham was initially reluctant to leave Premier League football for Italy but he has since changed his mind thanks in part to the abovementioned Pinto.

Abraham is currently in the Italian capital of Rome to complete his transfer from Chelsea to AS Roma.

The pursuit of AS Roma star Florenzi by AC Milan has been slow in recent weeks as a result of other transfer matters though negotiations are still ongoing between the two clubs involved. The status of Florenzi at Roma remains the same despite the arrival of new manager, Jose Mourinho this summer. He was surplus to requirements under the previous managerial era under Paulo Fonseca and that prompted him to spend last season on loan at French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG).

Florenzi has already given his approval for a transfer to AC Milan this summer and he’s waiting for the Rossoneri to agree a fee with Roma.

Roma had started negotiations with AC Milan for Florenzi before they switched their attention to the Tammy Abraham transfer. Sporting director Tiago Pinto had to travel to London to close the deal for England international Abraham from Chelsea.

Milan have offered a loan option for Florenzi with the option to buy which will graduate to a loan option with obligation to buy when certain conditions such as Champions League qualification are met. However, Roma want guarantees that Milan will pay €6m for Florenzi. The general consensus is that the transfer will go through.
