                         HELLAS VERONA 1-2 AC MILAN: THREE THINGS LEARNED

After the disappointment in the Champions League against Chelsea, Milan travelled away from home to face Hellas Verona and managed to take all three points, keeping themselves close to Napoli in the standings and especially after the 0-0 draw between Udinese and Lazio which allowed the Rossoneri to jump in third place.

There weren’t many changes in the starting XI for Pioli with the most notable one being Yacine Adli picking up his first start since joining the club, pushing Brahim Diaz to play on the right instead of down the middle. HENRY’S RECORD UNDER THREAT FROM GIROUD

The all-time highest goalscorer’s record for the France senior national team currently held by Arsenal legendThierry Henry is under serious pressure from AC Milan star Olivier Giroud after he scored during the 2-0 win over Austria for the French team. The AC Milan striker was the recipient of the second goal as France recorded their first win of the UEFA Nations League this season.

France had been very poor in the Nations League this season until the home game against the Austrians. The world champions didn’t win any of their first four games. They secured their first victory of the season in the competition at the fifth time of asking. France are in Group A1 alongside Austria, Denmark and Croatia. They led in their first group game at home to Denmark only for them to concede twice in the second half and lose 2-1. In their second group game, France played out a 1-1 draw with hosts Croatia. UCL: ZAGREB AHEAD OF CHELSEA, MILAN

Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb are ahead of the likes of AC Milan, Chelsea and Red Bull Salzburg in Group E after the first set of games in the group. Dinamo Zagreb are widely seen as the least ranked team in the group, but they have a two-point lead at the top after the first two games in the group.

Dinamo Zagreb were drawn in Group E with immediate past European champions Chelsea,AC Milan and Red Bull Salzburg after the Champions League group stage draw was held last month. They began their campaign in the group with a slim win over massive favourites Chelsea. It was a stunning win for the Croatians thanks to the first half strike from Miroslav Orsic. Chelsea came into the game as overwhelming favourites before they went on to suffer a third successive defeat away from home. The Blues had been beaten at Leeds United (3-0) and Southampton (2-1)on the road before the Dinamo Zagreb game. Read more… »
