AC CHASING TEVEZ

AC Milan are very much interested in taking Carlos Tevez to the San Siro, although only on a loan deal. This comes as a major shock for Manchester City, who had been hoping that some other club would be taking Carlos Tevez off their hands. It has been reported that Manchester City are not interested in selling Carlos Tevez on a loan deal as it would only solve their Tevez problem temporarily.

One of the main reasons for AC Milan being interested in signing Carlos Tevez is the injury situation with Antonio Cassano. The striker has undergone heart surgery and is not expected to play for the rest of the season. In order to compensate for his absence, AC Milan are considering a move for Carlos Tevez, although this would include an option to buy at the end of the season.

This has been the way AC Milan have been operating in recent seasons. Hence, it is not surprising to learn that they are only interested in loan deal as of now, although it would be interesting to see if Manchester City accept this proposition. No official contact has been made between the clubs so far.

When asked about Carlos Tevez, AC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani said “Tevez? Let’s see. There is time. But whoever arrives in January will be on loan with the right to buy.”

Inter Milan are also rumoured to be interested in signing the Argentine, who has become a matter of great concern for Manchester City ever since he refused to play in the match against Bayern Munich. Since then, Carlos Tevez has been fined more than £1.5 million and has not played for the club since then.

MATRI BACKS AC

Juventus midfielder and goal-hero Alessandro Matri has insisted that, even though Juventus are the form team in Serie A at the moment, AC Milan remain the firm favourites.

Fresh from helping Juve to beat Inter Milan at the San Siro in the Derby D’Italia, Matri told the press that, whilst Juventus had done well so far this season (and top the table), you couldn’t buy the experience that AC have.

“AC Milan are the favourites for the Scudetto because they are already the champions of Italy and have great players,” he said.

“Saturday’s game is forgotten, we are already thinking about the next game with Napoli.”
