MILAN STRUGGLE

Milan have struggled with form throughout the season due to the loss of several quality players like Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Another reason for their struggles this season has been the inability to replace the star players, who departed in the summer. In addition to the departures during the summer, the club has also lost the services of the Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato at the start of this transfer window. The club are currently in the top half of the table after staging a good recovery in the last few weeks. They were in the bottom half only a few months ago.

Finishing in the top three is certainly one of the main objectives of the season for AC Milan. Even though they still remain several points behind the top three, the Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri is convinced that they will be capable of finishing in the top three by the end of the season. Milan are currently in the fifth position after managing to win three out of the last four matches in the league.

They are seven points behind the third placed Lazio with several games remaining in the season. This coupled with the potential arrival of players like Mario Balotelli and Kaka could prove to be the difference according to Allegri.

“It wouldn’t be a miracle for us to get into third place. We’ll need to get an average of two points a game to reach 70 points but it will also depend on many other things. It won’t be easy to maintain that average and tomorrow we have a chance to start the second half of the season well and turn around the poor start that we had. We have to respect the teams ahead of us who have spent a lot of money. That we are still in touch with those teams shows that we’re not doing as badly as some want to believe,” said Allegri.
