Job done. That’s what most Milan fans will feel after a thrilling final day in Serie A, where the team dropped in and out of the Champions League spots and then somehow finished 2nd. Was it deserved? You would have to say so, given how Milan topped the table for large parts of the season.
There were some nerves, certainly in the run-in, and you might say that Milan shouldn’t have left themselves with a job to do on the last day. But, 2nd place and Champions League football? Highly rated Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare is holding out for an offer from one of Liverpool or Manchester United this summer, after rejecting a move to Newcastle in January. According to report, the Magpies submitted a substantial offer for Lille only for the player to reject the offer.

Former Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva has admitted that he chose Lazio above many other clubs this summer. The Brazil international had been linked with the likes of AC Milan, Newcastle United and Gremio during the transfer window before he decided to link up with the Rome-based outfit.
Leiva spent 10 seasons with Liverpool, where they were mostly in a transition phase, and he thereby did not get the chance to celebrate the success achieved prior to his arrival.
