AC MILAN IS IN A NIGHTMARE SITUATION

Ac Milan would face Juventus and Inter Milan in the coming days, and they would face this key battle without their first-choice defensive pairing. Stefano Pioli would somehow find a way to orchestrate two massive fixtures that could determine where the Serie A title is heading to come May.

Fikayo Tomori underwent a keyhole surgery that would rule the Englishman for at least a month. Fellow centre-back pairing Simon Kjaer has been out for a while and is not expected to be back until towards the end of this season. Romagnoli is out with covid while Ballo-Toure is also out with the Senegalese out on AFCON duties with Senegal.

Ac Milan would welcome Juventus on the 23rd of January, while they would square off with league leaders Inter Milan in February. There are also key league fixtures with Spezia and Sampdoria to navigate. Add the Coppa Italia quarter-final match against Udinese or Lazio and you can’t help but feel for this Milan side.

Romagnoli is expected to recover before the game against Juventus, but the Italian international would have to pair with either Pierre Kalulu or Mattia Gabbia who are both the second choice. Davide Calabria is expected to be back sometime this week to challenge Alessandro Florenzi at right back. Theo Hernandez is the only left-back available.

Meanwhile, Stefano Pioli has been vocal about his desire to get at least one centre-back signing this winter. Ac Milan has been keeping tabs on Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer, with reports stating that efforts have been intensified in recent days to cover for the injured defenders at the club. Bremer would be the perfect replacement for Tomori, but Ac Milan would have to cough out at least €15m to tempt Torino to sell. The Rossoneri could also turn to Lille’s Sven Botman if the deal for Bremer proves too complicated.
