MILAN PLANNING ANOTHER RAID ON CHELSEA THIS SUMMER

Italian Serie A giants AC Milan have already successfully snapped up a striker from English Premier League side Chelsea this summer but they seem to be hungry for more players from the Blues. Milan completed the signing of former Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud from Chelsea this summer after a successful round of talks as the Italian side looked to bolster the attacking line of their squad. Giroud was signed for around £2 million from Stamford Bridge as a potential standing partner for Zlatan Ibrahimovic but with the two strikers already bearing the end of their careers, Milan are said to be interested in planning for the future.

According to the latest reports, Milan are very much interested in the idea of snapping up another striker from Chelsea, in the person of Tammy Abraham. The England international striker has largely been tipped to find another club after being told that he is currently behind Timo Werner and Kai Havertz in the pecking order under manager Thomas Tuchel.

HOW WILL GIROUD PERFORM AT MILAN NEXT SEASON?

With reports gathering pace that Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud will be joining Italian Serie A giants AC Milan next season, there have been questions raised about how much of an impact he will be making at the Italian club next season. The France international attacker has grown fed up at Stamford Bridge following his lack of game time under manager Thomas Tuchel and has long decided that he wants to try out a new challenge elsewhere. He was largely restricted to minimal game time last season and hardly played in the Premier League, with Tuchel preferring Timo Werner over him and Tammy Abraham.

He has reportedly agreed to join Milan on a two-year contract and is expected to sign a deal with the Rossoneri in the coming days in order to finalize all the formalities in the deal. Giroud is an excellent striker and has always performed well whenever he got his chance. He is expected to be more involved in games at Milan next season than he did at Chelsea and there is a huge belief that he will score a couple of goals at the San Siro too.

MILAN CONTINUE CHASE FOR CHELSEA STRIKER GIROUD

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has continued to be a wanted man by Italian giants AC Milan, with the Rossoneri said to be keen to acquire the services of the France international striker. Giroud, who has been reduced to a bench role at Stamford Bridge in the last couple of months, is said to be dissatisfied with life in England and reportedly wants to engineer a move away from the Blues. The former Arsenal attacker has made it clear to the Chelsea manager that he would love to play more games and that he is willing to find another club if the German manager cannot promise him that.

At the end of the last two seasons, former Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte signaled his desire to sign the ex-Arsenal player and take him to Italy. However, Chelsea remained adamant that they were not going to sell him until they find a perfect replacement. Although staying put at Chelsea was not entirely what he wanted, Giroud finished the 2020-21 campaign with the Blues.

Luca Antonini fancies Alvaro Morata to join AC Milan this summer

Former AC Milan defender Luca Antonini believes Alvaro Morata could make a Serie A comeback this summer with the Rossoneri leading the race for his services. The Spain international has an average debut season with Chelsea where he scored just 15 goals in 48 appearances and he is now being tipped to pursue a fresh challenge following the change of management.

Speaking to RMC Sport, Antonini said that Morata could be ideally suited to play for the Rossoneri next term and sees him as a more realistic option than Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema, he quipped: “I think that Morata and Milan have already chosen. There is clearly a need to convince Chelsea, who hold the cards. As far as I’m concerned, for Milan I see the Spaniard as being more suitable than a player like Benzema. The Frenchman is the ideal profile for Napoli.” Read more… »
