Kaka Leaves AC Milan

The Brazilian superstar Kaka is no longer a part of AC Milan. The veteran midfielder has left the club a year prior to the expiry of his contract.

The main reason behind Kaka’s exit is believed to be Milan’s failure to qualify for the UEFA Champions League last season.

There have been a lot of reports of Kaka planning to make his way to America this summer. The club which he is rumoured to be close to signing for is the MLS new boys Orlando City.

However, the start of the new MLS season is a few months away and in the meantime, Kaka has planned to feature for his first ever club Sao Paulo.

Kaka had joined AC Milan at the start of the last season. The Rossoneri had bought him on free transfer as he had been released by his former club Real Madrid at the completion of his contract.

Kaka couldn’t make as much of an impact as expected at San Siro. He played a lot of matches there, but, he could score only 7 goals and that was surely a below par performance as per his standards.

Milan finished the season quite low in the Serie A table and after that, it was widely expected that Kaka would not stay in Italy any more.

A statement was released by Milan yesterday which confirmed Kaka’s departure from the club.

That statement read, “The club and Kaka have mutually agreed for the termination of the contract which means that the Brazilian would not be with us in the future.”

The 2013-14 Season was the first season in the last one and half decades when Milan couldn’t make it to the Champions League. It must have been hugely gutting for all the officials, player and supporters of the club.
