AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso is pleased with the performance of the Rossoneri during the 1-1 draw against AS Roma on the road. The Rossoneri opened the scoring through winter signing Krzysztof Piatek in the first 30 minutes but they were pegged back shortly after the interval with Nicolo Zaniolo levelling the scores for the hosts.
Meanwhile, when asked about the quiet performance of Suso, Gattuso added that the Spaniard has been lacking match sharpness after struggling with niggles of late, he further told: “He hasn’t trained with continuity. It’s true that when once you stop you must find the match sharpness again. He suffered on a physical level.”
Roma were desperate to produce a strong performance after the 7-1 mauling at the hands of Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia quarter-final and they somewhat made amends with the stalemate where they were the better team during the second period. Nonetheless, it remains to be seen whether the draw is sufficient enough to keep Eusebio di Francesco at the helm of things with the Capital outfit. Roma are currently one point behind Milan in the race for the final Champions League spot.
