Stefano Pioli and his AC Milan side take on Torino in a cup tie for the second time in just four days after initially meeting their Serie A rivals in the league on Saturday. Milan are in a great position to win the league and league cup titles this season given their blistering form at the moment and the form of their star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The league clash on Saturday between both teams ended with a scoreline of 2-0, in favour of Milan, and they will be looking to make it two straight wins against Torino in this clash.
Given the desire by the entire squad to lay their hands-on silverware this season, Pioli is expected to take the Cup game seriously and is also expected to not make much changes to the starting XI that played on Saturday. Let’s look at the possible starting teams on Tuesday.
Although Brahim Diaz and Sandro Tonali were substituted off from the 2-0 win after picking up injuries on Saturday, they are still expected to be fit for the cup fixture. However, Ibrahimovic, as well as Saelemaekers and Bennacer will most likely not be risked as they are yet to return to full fitness.
The area where most of the rotations will take place is the defensive department. CiprianTatarusanu is the expected man between the sticks and is also expected to be shielded by a back four of Pierre Kalulu, DiogoDalot, Theo Hernandez, and Alessio Romagnoli. Sandro Tonali and Franck Kessie will be the two players just ahead of the four defenders, while Brahim Diaz, SamuCastillejo, and Jens Petter Hauge will be just behind lone striker Rafael Leao.
Possible Milan Starting XI (4-2-3-1): Tatarusanu; Dalot; Kalulu; Romagnoli; Hernandez; Kessie; Tonali; Castillejo; Diaz; Hauge; Leao.
