AC Milan failed to go six points clear at the top of the table after being held to a draw. Robinho gave Milan the lead in the 43rd minute with a superbly taken volley after he’d exchanged a neat one-two with striker Zlatan Ibrahimovich.

But after the break it was Sampdoria who were making all the running and their perseverance was soon rewarded with a goal — Daniele Gastaldello setting up Giampaolo Pazzini who shot past keeper Christian Abbiati from close range in the 59th minute.
