PRESSURE IS ON

Milan have once again made a poor start to the league campaign after managing just one win in the first four matches of the season.

As result, they are in the 11th position in the table. This has increased pressure on manager Massimiliano Allegri, who has had it tough fight to keep his position for the last few years. The club had a similar start to the season last time around, but they managed to turn their fortunes since Christmas following the arrival of Mario Balotelli. Now that Balotelli is already at the club, it remains to be seen who can rescue Milan now.

Allegri, though, has said that people should not worry about the league table at this stage in the season. Milan have only scored seven goals in these four matches, while they have also conceded a similar amount of goals as well. They have taken just four points from these matches, but Allegri has said that the team has been playing well up until this point and that is what matters. Milan recently lost Napoli in the league match between the two teams. The 2-1 defeat is the first time Milan have lost to Napoli in 27 years. Milan could have equalised at the death, but Mario Balotelli had his penalty saved for the first time by Pepe Reina.

“Four points in the table does not worry me, the squad has played well. After the break the squad will be straightened out. We had made errors only in the first 10 minutes and after the break we conceded a goal to Higuain. We were lucky against Torino, and unlucky today,” said Allegri. He also said that Balotelli was very unlucky to receive the red card because he had a good match. Balotelli scored the goal for Milan, but received his second yellow card later.
