Montella Not Concerned by High-Profile Departures at AC Milan

AC Milan have just appointed yet another new manager as they try to solve the period of instability with even more managerial arrivals and departures.

Lack of financial investment in the club by owner Silvio Berlusconi has been a major reason towards AC Milan’s decline in the last decade. The club are reportedly in talks with Chinese consortiums over the possibility of a takeover. Until such a deal becomes final, Milan will continue to go through financial uncertain periods. In the past, it has forced them into selling key players for a profit rather than doing well on the pitch.

New manager Vincenzo Montella was raised the possibility of facing high-profile departures from the squad over the final few weeks of the summer transfer window. However, the former Fiorentina manager did not react to the situation and claimed that he will accept any decision taken by the Milan hierarchy. Milan are reportedly on the verge of receiving a bid from Chelsea for the transfer of defenderRomagnoli. The 21-year-old has been viewed as the next Alessandro Nesta or Paolo Maldini in the ranks of Milan. He had joined from Roma for € 21 million, but he is currently valued in excess of £ 30 million by the Italian outfit.

“I like strong players… I don’t want to make big changes with 15 days to go before the transfer window closes. Naturally I am a Coach, so I accept what the club wants with the utmost calm. Luiz Adriano is a good centre-forward, so I wanted to see him on the wing. Bacca also put some petrol in the tank by playing today, as he needs more playing time to reach full fitness. I know what Luca Antonelli can give as a full-back, so I tried him out in the centre,” said after a pre-season friendly game.
